Epstein Files · Part 6 of 6 · The Silence · Series Final

No co-conspirator charged. No client named as a defendant. The SDNY closed its investigation. The victims settled in civil court under seal. The same gap. What is the system actually for?

Six episodes. One conviction. Zero co-conspirators charged. The Epstein Files has documented the same gap at every stage of the system. The 2008 non-prosecution agreement that a federal judge ruled violated the Crime Victims Rights Act. The flight logs. Maxwell's conviction for trafficking to unnamed individuals who were never charged. 4,553 pages of civil case documents unsealed with names redacted and no charges following. A death in federal custody with two medical examiners and two opposite conclusions. And now the silence: the SDNY's investigation is closed, the victims' civil settlements are sealed, and as of October 2026 no co-conspirator of Epstein other than Maxwell has been charged by any federal prosecutor. This is what the series documented. The question at the end of it has not changed.

Epstein's 2008 non-prosecution agreement in the Southern District of Florida identified co-conspirators as unnamed. The agreement gave immunity from federal prosecution to Epstein and any named co-conspirators. Judge Kenneth Marra ruled on February 21 2019 that the agreement violated the Crime Victims Rights Act because it was negotiated in secret without notifying victims. The agreement stood for 11 years regardless. Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 v. United States, No. 08-80736, S.D. Fla., February 21 2019.
Epstein was indicted by the SDNY on July 8 2019 on one count of sex trafficking of minors and one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. The indictment named no co-defendants. Epstein died August 10 2019. Maxwell was subsequently charged and convicted. The indictment against Maxwell named no co-defendants alongside her. As of October 2026 no co-conspirator of Epstein other than Maxwell has been charged by the SDNY or any other federal prosecutor in connection with Epstein's trafficking network. The SDNY investigation is closed. United States v. Maxwell, No. 20-cr-330, SDNY · SDNY Opinion, January 21 2026.
