Footage obtained by Salah Ostaz near the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza shows vast areas of Tal al-Zaatar, Jabalia and Beit Lahia that have been completely destroyed. Entire neighborhoods that had been inhabited for decades have been reduced to rubble with almost no recognisable features remaining.

Even after the destruction of entire neighborhoods and the displacement of their residents, civilians who have returned to areas of Beit Lahia and Jabalia continue to face gunfire and artillery shelling, particularly near the Yellow Line established by Israeli military forces in the area.

From a position established by the Israeli military near the Indonesian Hospital, gunfire can be heard and observed being directed toward civilians in the surrounding areas of Beit Lahia and Jabalia. According to accounts from hospitals in northern Gaza, this has resulted in civilian deaths and serious injuries, including among children, on a daily basis.

The Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, was one of the last partially functioning hospitals in the north of the territory. WHO documented repeated incidents affecting the hospital and its immediate surroundings throughout 2024 and 2025. The area around it has been the subject of documented military operations across multiple phases of the conflict.

UN OCHA has documented systematic destruction of residential areas in Jabalia, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza across multiple reporting periods. The scale of destruction in these areas, combined with ongoing military presence and documented sniper fire toward civilians attempting to return, constitutes a pattern recorded in UN, WHO and ICRC documentation of the conflict.

The Yellow Line referenced by Salah Ostaz refers to a military demarcation established by Israeli forces in northern Gaza restricting civilian movement. Civilians who have crossed or approached it have been documented as targets of direct fire in multiple ground reports from the area.
